Composer Sonata Series: A Work in Progress
Well, here’s the beginning of a true work in progress. I’m working on a series of commissioned portraits of my friend, actor-pianist-playwright extraordinaire Hershey Felder, capturing him onstage in each of his self-created one-man “Composer Sonata” performances, each of which he has toured the world to international acclaim. I’ve been a fan for 25 years since I saw his first amazing turn in George Gershwin Alone and our friendship developed over the years from my continuous glowing reviews of his incredible contribution to theatrical literature. Here are the portraits I’ve completed so far and more will be posted whenever one is completed. Others will include Hershey as Liszt, Irving Berlin, Chopin, Leonard Bernstein, and in his next transformation as Rachmaninoff debuting next year.
